Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc Alexander Valley 2016

External Review by Wine Gems @ Perriello's:

Alexander Valley, Sonoma, CaliforniaWine Spectator 88 points!Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc is a beautiful white wine gem from the Alexander Valley appellation of Sonoma in California. Matanzas Creek has been dedicated to a genuine expression of Sonoma County Sauvignon Blanc since 1977. The wine is primarily fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperature with the balance in neutral oak barrels. Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc is savory and broad, bursting with vibrant and complex aromas and flavors. Kiwi and Key lime notes are strung delicately together against a background of lemon verbena and hints of citrus blossom. This wine has great tension - its elements are highly articulated, with layered acidity. It is clean, crisp and refreshing on the long finish."Broad, with orange zest and orange blossom highlights to the core of pear and peach notes. Effusively fruity and expressive, offering a juicy finish and touch of almond skin."-MW, Wine Spectator, November 2017, 88 points!Enjoy Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc over the next 3-4 years as an aperitif wine or with grilled shrimp, sushi, crab salad, roast chicken and mild cheeses.
