Massaya White Blend Blanc 2009

Member Review by Amanda Schuster:

In my opinion, this is one of the most consistently great bang-for-buck value wines out there. Never disappoints. Takes a little while to get going, but with some air time, beautiful things happen. Ripe raspberries and cherries, with dark chocolate and a little espresso. Balanced with some acidity so these elements never seem too heavy. Very smooth and silky, with an amazingly long finish for such an inexpensive wine. Have tried it with tapas, meats, cheeses and things with sweet peppers and thick and tomato sauce and it all matches perfectly.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

i didn't know what to expect from this but i was surprised. It had a subtle berry nose and a soft mouthfeel that was full of ripe fruity flavors that ends smoothly

Been open for a while, but still opened with a hot nose. Wow, the finish was pretty tart too. Its 2006, so i doubt anyone can convince me this wine is 'ready'. Strong ethanol tones throughout, the berry fruit tries to sneak through and succeeds on the mid-palette, but then the acid finish comes and destroys your taste buds. No thank you
