Masi Tupungato Passo Doble Malbec Corvina 2015

Winemaker's Notes:

Aromas of commercial soap, cherry and crushed stone are candied, pushy and not easy. A choppy mouthfeel with shrill acidity is another tough road to travel. Flavors of cherry cough drop and coffee are hot prior to an abrupt hard-driving finish. Elegance is not a factor in this fruity bullish Italian-style blend of Malbec and Corvina.

Smoky, dark and earthy with a fungal, almost musty note. A bit brighter on the palate, still quite earthy with ripe red fruit flavors of red currant and cranberry, dark chocolate earthiness and a spicy, acidic finish of tart plum skin and tobacco.

There are fears that globalisation will lead to a world of homogeneous wine. But it has also produced this, Argentinian malbec with a percentage of slightly drived Corvina grapes. Italian Masi winemak
