Fairly noticeable clove oak note and sweet toast greet the nose here. There's some soft black cherry and black berry fruit, but this is oak-driven today. Fairly rich and nicely bright with dark, chewy chocolate notes covering lightly brambly black fruit with beefy and asphalt elements adding complexity. There's some nice fruit here, with a wild berry note that matches the spice on the rather long finish, though this does show a bit of heat. Fairly intense but a bit simple. 86pts
