What to Expect

A lesser known grape variety from Italy's Piedmonte region, Freisa produces light to medium bodied wines with bright acidity and a moderate amount of hard tannins. Freisa is made in several styles including as a dry red table wine or more traditionally as Freisa Vivace, a slightly effervescent style that may be a touch sweet. It typically exhibits red cherry fruit with subtle accents of bitter herbs, spicy notes and a bit of tar.

Reviews

A dark ruby red color. The nose is vibrant with strawberry and cherries, olives and fall leaves. On the palate a zippy acidity takes center stage and carries cherry, cranberry fruit and earthy oak through the bitter finish that begs you to take another bite. An amazing food pairing wine.
