Mas la Plana. Torres 2007
The wine expresses an intense aroma, showing all the classic characteristics of the native land of Mas La Plana, together with notes of truffle, toast, and wild red berry conserve. It has great body and breadth on the palate, along with juicy tannins that become balanced and elegant.

One of Spain's signature red wines, a wine that speaks of the remarkable terroir of the Penedes in Northern Spain. Cabernet Sauvignon is obviously not a Spanish grape but here in this single vineyard it creates a wine that's nothing short of World Class. This 2007 scored 90 points from the Wine Spectator who said "A well-structured red, this features lightly chewy tannins that frame flavors of damson plum preserves, ground coffee, fig paste and bittersweet cocoa. This is dark and brooding, with a smoky mineral sublayer as well as hints of dried herb and kirsch on the finish. Drink now through 2020."
One of Spain's signature red wines, a wine that speaks of the remarkable terroir of the Penedes in Northern Spain. Cabernet Sauvignon is obviously not a Spanish grape but here in this single vineyard it creates a wine that's nothing short of World Class. This 2007 scored 93 points from the Wine Advocate who said "The purple-colored 2007 Mas La Plana displays notes of smoky oak, spice box, violets, black currant, and blackberry in its inviting bouquet. It opens in the glass to reveal a smooth texture, elegant personality, and enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years. Nicely proportioned and with excellent volume, it has a drinking window that extends from 2014 to 2027. Mas La Plana has a demonstrated track record for longevity. I was shown vintages dating back to 1971 that were in fine condition. Especially impressive was the 1981, which at age 30 has an elegance that only maturity can impart."
Dunkles fast undurchsichtiges Violett-Rot.
Food Pairings for Mas la Plana. Torres
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon announces itself with those cedar and green pepper notes, alongside cherry, plum, and even boysenberry flavors. At present, cedary, nutty, and barrel-derived aromas play with and against Cabernet’s herbal, peppery notes. If this sounds confusing, it’s not; it’s just complex. In the finish, some earth and forest floor hints accentuate the tobacco character, ending dusty and rather austere at present. In short, the wine is young and needs a few more years of cellaring.

Notes: Aged for 18 months in new Tronçais and Nevers oak
