Mas Doix Salanques Priorat 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

From looking at and tasting Salanques, you'd never know that it is a 'second label' to Mas Doix. Its deep purple color speaks to how highly concentrated and extracted this wine is, and the floral aromas, black fruit and chalky minerality speak to the pedigree of the vineyards. On the palate, the wine is completely balanced, with full body, good acid, ripe tannins, and a velvety mouthfeel.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

A very nice priorat. Ripe black cherry and smooth fine grained tannins give this grenache based Spanish red nicely balanced flavor and a really nice mouthfeel. Nicely tamed, not your overpowering Priorat.
