Mas Doix Grenache Blend Priorat Salanques 2002

Member Review by ryanopaz:

Nose shows dirt, cinnamon, and spice with a background of fruit. In the mouth the acid is soft with strong firm tannins that seem mature. Black fruit, with light pepper, earth, mineral(schist). Deifnatly needs some time to calm down. 4/5 [NR]

Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Salanques 2002 DOC Priorat Granacha, Carinena, Merlot, Syrah 14% Deep reddish purple Nose of dirt and rich spice, almost like grandmas attic Heavy in the mouth it has a richness that shows a lot of fruit supported by copious tannins. Rich berry flavors framed by pepper and earth draw me back to this wine. Really dirty, as in earthy, and I wonder how a flavor as such would progress given a few years. c5a13t16o7=91 [91]
