Reviews for 2000 Vintage
This red wine features floral aromas redolent of rose petals followed with deep, dark blackberry fruit and earthy spices. Vin de pays, or country wine, is the designation used in France for wines that are considered regionally distinctive but not quite in the same league as wines with appellation controlee status. Hermitage it's not, but the 35-year-old Syrah vines produce wine of significant body and this one was aged in new oak for 7-8 months. The wine has an almost Northern Rhone quality to it. It was bottled unfiltered and should drink nicely for 3-5 years. Robert Kacher is one of America's leading importers of small, handcrafted French wines.
