Mas de Daumas Gassac White Blend Vin de Pays de l'Hérault Blanc 2006

External Review by Astor Wines & Spirits:

The Mas de Daumas Gassac winery is the most well-respected producer in the Languedoc. As he has planted a myriad of white and red grape varieties - indigenous and otherwise - Aimé Guibert's wines can only be listed as Vin de Pays, but the wine speaks for itself. Captivating fruit and an elegant texture that tells much about the terroir.

Mas de Daumas Gassac:
Way back in 780 CE, Charlemagne’s advisor, Saint Benedict of Aniane, founded the first vineyard in the Gassac valley. Indeed, there are good reasons to believe that he introduced Charlemagne to some of the valley’s early wines. Thus, in common with most truly great wines, the Daumas Gassac Grands Crus were born under the aegis of a prestigious Abbey.

The Mas de Daumas Gassac winery is the most well-regarded producer in the Languedoc. Since he plants lots of different grape varieties - indigenous and otherwise - Aimé Guibert's wines can only be listed as Vin de Pays, but this sophisticated white wine speaks for itself, with captivating fruit and an elegant texture that says much about the terroir.
