Mas Amiel Grenache Blend Côtes du Roussillon le Plaisir 2009
Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:
A deeply figgy nose with tons of candied notes, cocoa, mace, and maple syrup. Nuanced in the mouth, moderatley sweet with notes of plummy fruit and sweet pipe tobacco, round and soft and a touch not. the finish is a bit short with a subtle burnt nut/brittle note, some pruniness, and hints of spicy toffee and citrus peel.

Add your review100% Grenache and very dry. This is definitely a red wine lover's rose. Not a lot of fruit on the palate at all (rather, more minerality), though the nose is nicely fragrant of strawberry and raspberry.
Quite brown but has deeper colour than the 10 year-old, cocoa and dried liquorice on the nose with intricate cheesy Madeira-like nose; still has chunky tannins and nice oomph vs lush sweet liquorice fruit then meaty spicy undertones; very alive still and very long, tasty maturing finish. Excellent. €45 93-95 More Amiel wine reviews and profile @ www.winewriting.com/WineWriting%20subspages.htm#RWS
