Martínez Corta Tempranillo Rioja Cepas Antiguas 2010
This wine is sourced from a selection of vineyards that are over 40 years old and yield an average of 5,000 kg per hectare. To extract more color and aromas, the grape skins and must are macerated twice over the course of two weeks--once at cold temperatures before alcoholic fermentation and once after. Alcoholic fermentation is conducted using techniques such as délestage and micro-oxygenation over a period of 10 days while maintaining a maximum temperature of 26ºC. Malolactic fermentation occurs over the course of two months in new French oak barrels, giving the wine its excellent structure, complexity, and balance of oak, fruit, acidity, and alcohol.
