What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

Reviews

Rating: 92/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 126, May/June 2006 ($40) Exotic leesy notes on the nose. Round, seamless and impressively deep, yet still quite young. The wine's distinctly mineral character lingers impressively on the long aftertaste. This cool site, at the foot of Jackass Hill, is one of the Martinellis' last vineyards to be harvested. An excellent showing. Drink over the next five years.

Produced from a Dijon clone, the 2004 Chardonnay Martinelli Road exhibits a liqueur of gravel-like personality along with hints of honeysuckle, beeswax, and liquid stones. It is full-bodied, dense, and concentrated with terrific fruit intensity, medi... Robert Parker. A Chardonnay wine from California in USA. 2004 Martinelli Chardonnay Martinelli Road 1500ml
