Tight, touch of powdered cherry sugar, wood, spice, hint of age, rich, broad and high, great inner mouth perfume, wild cherry, plum, herbs, a touch of meaty extract, superb tannin ripeness, powerful but still retiming a sense of delicacy, really fine drive to the cherry fruit on the backend, finishes with rich flavor and continuing delicacy of texture.

The 2006 Pinot Noir is endowed with a fabulous, mineral-rich nose, superbly defined with touches of strawberry and boysenberry, the palate very concentrated yet very well-defined with vibrant acidity, ebullient red-berried fruits and a svelte, silky, sophisticated finish. Its quality shines through this lovely wine that should drink over 3-5 years. This is another icon of New Zealand, whose wines helped put their Pinot Noir on the international map.--Neal Martin of Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Martinborough fruit vinted in small lots using traditional French methods and barrel aging. This wine displays an abundance of flavor, primarily strong berry fruit with a touch of spicehellip; the quintessential Pinot Noir. Considered by many to be Australasiarsquo;s best Pinot Noir.

Medium red. Dark cherry and musky spicy earth and underbrush on the nose. Fat lush and sweet with very good breadth to the dark fruit and spice flavors. This shows the musky earth and game nuances I associate with Martinborough pinot but has plenty of supporting fresh acidity. Gained in sweetness with aeration but this is still a bit tight. Finishes with chewy building tannins.

Smooth and earthy. Integrated tannins. Damsons, cherries and raspberries. Smooth. Warm finish. Mulberry hints.
