Martinborough Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2011 season has produced classic Martinborough Pinot Noir's full of juicy red and dark fruits with a heady scent of spice in background. The attractive aromas belie a palate showing serious richness and weight thanks in part to the above average warmth during the growing season. Hand-picked from our oldest blocks of Pinot Noir on the Martinborough Terrace, the age of these vines is now beginning to show a real sense of 'terroir'. This is most evident on the palate where the older vines have produced a wine showing great complexity and depth that will see this wine age gracefully for at least ten years.

Internationally acclaimed wine writers and judges Bob Campbell MW of New Zealand, Huon Hooke of Australia and Michael Fridjhon of South Africa selected the best wines of each variety from their own country. The judging is then done blind by the three selectors along with Chairman of judges Robert Joseph, to rate the wines in their order of preference. Read less
