89 points. The nose on this wine is sweet, ripe, and plush with delicate raspberries, plums and kitchen spices. There is a faint green note and the fruit is jammy, with a very slight tinge of mint. The palate opens sweet and soft with a very clear violet floral quality. There is a supple rose and suede component and a touch of mint and forest moss. I am impressed by the forest sense of terroir that I get from this wine. It’s somewhat like a clearing deep within the woods. There are supple herbs, ferns, and mosses growing on the ground, trees all around, with berries and wild violets in bloom throughout. I love it when a wine takes me somewhere, and this one definitely manages to do that. It’s very nicely structured, with a good amount of intensity, but with the restraint to not be explosive. It’s good a medium body with a sense of round fullness, and it has a very nice woodsy, almost slightly cacao touched finish that lasts and lasts. Overall, I like this wine quite a bit, and for the price it’s absolutely a wine worth trying.
