Pretty great albarino for the price. Aromas of apple, pineapple, and citrus. All echoed on the palate, which has a nicely tongue-tingling acidity to help counterbalance all the fruit. Just made for Spanish seafood dishes. Excellent QPR.

Crisp, acidic, wonderful compliment to a seafood paella.
The wine was a nice, medium yellow and very aromatic. After swirling the wine, I only had to put my nose near the glass to pick up the nice lime and green apple aromas. On a second check, I also found ripe melon and stone fruits. In the mouth, the Martin Codax tasted of lime, blossoms, and peach, mixed with the slightest bit of honey. I tasted this twice lots of pineapple flavors. Very light crisp enjoyable everyday wine versitile.

An excellent co-operative established in 1968 with over 550 members. These members have 420 hectares of vineyard. Martín Códax wine pays homage to the troubadour of the same name who lived in this region in the 13th century. It is said that he was born and lived in Galicia. The Mencía grapes are grown in their Bierzo vineyards, while the Albariño grapes come from their Rias Biaxas. This wine has a morello cherry red colour with violet tints. On the nose it is of medium-high intensity with dominant varietal aromas of red fruits and a touch of oak. It is well structured with firm but rounded tannins which make it elegant and balanced on the palate. The finish is full of vibrant varietal fruit. 90 points Robert Parker.
