Martín Códax Albariño Rías Baixas Burgáns 2007
The 2006 Burgans Albarino a custom cuvee chosen by importer Eric Solomon is a candidate for Best Buy in the Albarino category. Medium gold-colored the wine has excellent honey mineral orange marmalade and peach aromas and flavors in a just off-dry format. Drink it over the next 12-18 months with grilled salmon tuna and roast chicken. [89 pts Robert Parker]
Interesting wine but not fully to my taste. Notes at the wine bar said Popsicle on it and I definitely got that.
Pale gold color with a perfect albarino nose. LIght smokey cream sits at the base of great flesh fruit flavors and floral minerals. Wow that is a hard one to grab, but really this is a nice nose that will keep you going to back to figure it out. In the mouth this wine is fat, and round with lots of nice body, though a light finish. Lime notes mix with that cream from before and the nectarine notes that make me go back for more. Towards the finish I picked up some touches of honeydew or other white melon. Fun summer white that I highly recommend.
Was actually with HondaJohn when i tried this. Lots of orange, lemon and other sweet citrus notes - agree with popsicle as a description. Nice and crisp and refreshing. Good acidity - a real summer wine. Fairly simple, but good at what it does. Would pair very well with chicken salad, or some other lighter summer fare.
Light golden in color with a lovely green sheen. Very typical aromas you would find from an Albariño including subtle notes of vanilla peach, shale and gorgeous white floral nose. After a weekend of ports, this is a fabulous transition! Nice round mouthfeel, despite it's hollow midpalate, and nice lingering mineral, pear and light creme finish. This is a wine to eat with an wide array of light summer nibbles.
Bright yellow gold color, opulent nose of lemon flowers, green apple and green melon, with good acidity and texture carries these notes on the mouth. Medium to long finish. Needs something with lemon on it or catch of the day. Great Value!
Lovely wine! This might be my summer daily sipper this year. Excellent value ($9 at my local store). Bursting with a floral nose, has lovely flavors of peach and apple. Balanced with nice acidity and a long finish. Delicious!
color-yellow gold; nose-vanilla, sweet cream & lemons; mouth-more dairy & stone fruit & mineral; finish -- medium drink it

The 2007 Burgans Albarino is light gold-colored with a sprightly nose of mineral, spring flowers, and lemon peel. Ripe, balanced, and concentrated, this is an ideal match for flaky fish courses. Drink it over the next 1-2 years." (02/08) From Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light yellow-gold. Exotically perfumed nose displays smoky peach, mango and papaya, plus a strong floral accent. Deep and chewy, with more power than I usually find in this wine. Tropical fruit flavors coat the palate and pick up a subtle herbal note on the back end. This could handle richer foods." (Sept/Oct '08) Burgans is a custom cuvee made for importer Eric Solomon.
