Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

User Reviews for Marston Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker's Notes:

In 2008, La Niña brought about a warm spring in the Napa Valley that prompted early bud break, followed first by a prolonged cooling trend and then an extended heat wave that lowered crop yields. On October 1st, 2008 we hand-picked our favorite blocks to produce a limited amount of our 2008 Marston Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and our tireless efforts were recently rewarded by being named one of the “Outstanding 2008 Napa Cabernets” by The Wine Spectator! (250 cases produced) The Wine Spectator:"Complex and supple, with layers of plum, blackberry, mineral, sage and cedar. Full bodied, big but not overdone, this is pleasinglygraceful and balanced on the finish. Drink now through 2022." -James Laube, The Wine Spectator (Rated 92 points, and ranked one of the "Outstanding 2008 Napa Cabernets", July 2011) Winemaker Tasting Notes:“The perfumed nose is highlighted by black cherry and blueberry layered with cocoa and hazelnut. Hints of lavender, sage, Christmas spice and cassis lead into a blackberry front, followed by a juicy, full mouth of black raspberry, red plum, mocha and hints of anise. The silky tannins give way to a clean, lingering finish of ripe red cherry and vanilla.” ~ Marbue Marke, Winemaker *This item is limited in availability so all sales must be confirmed.*
