Marquis Philips Shiraz Mclaren Vale Integrity 2007
The superb Shiraz 9 includes the wine that would have been earmarked for that flamboyant cuvee. The rich full-bodied opulent Shiraz 9 boasts abundant amounts of concentrated blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with smoke camphor and tar notes. It is a powerful Shiraz (16% alcohol) so those looking for restraint and delicate European-styled reds should steer clear of this monster. It should drink well for at least a decade.
Fruity with very little tannin. Tasted at Geneva wine tasting 4/18/2010.
Very dark color, with concentrated fruit and spice flavors. Complex and nicely balanced. This is a lot of wine for the money.
I did not like this much, although it does have a 92 WA rating. First of all, it had a nose of sour cherries, petroleum, and reminded me of the cheap in-flight tiny bottles of wine. I thought it had a rusty taste to it with some bitter aftertones. It did get better at day 3. However, I can think of other 'go to' wines at this price point that I'd enjoy drinking more - Chakana, Red Diamond, Thorne Clark, to name a few.
Dark, ripe, hot fruit nose. Blackberries on the palate -- very rich mouthfeel with rough tannins but a short finish. Try with grilled meats -- it's a hearty wine.
too extracted and takes too long to open up.
Decanted 1 hour. This is a big wine! Loads of blue and black fruit, both on the nose and mid-palate. Very jammy, with pepper and mocha flavors. Quite enjoyable, would buy again.
This is a very good Shiraz to have on hand and made by an excellent winery!

Fleshy and appealing for its coffee-accented cherry and tobacco flavors, hinting at bacon as the finish lingers against polished tannins. Drink now through 2017. 1,500 cases made. -HS Wine Spectator. A Syrah wine from South Australia in Australia. 2007 Marquis Philips Shiraz 9 750ml
Has the hallmark characteristics of Australian Shiraz: rich raspberry, ripe cherry and strawberry with hints of menthol, cedar and cinnamon spice. Mouth-filling palate of cocoa and black cherries.

The 2006 Shiraz was aged for 12 months in seasoned French and American oak. It is purple-colored and offers up a big whiff of cedar, blueberry, blackberry, and chocolate aromas. Full-bodied, ripe and sweet, it has enough structure to improve for 2-3 years in the bottle but who is going to defer their gratification? Drink it over the next 4-6 years.
A collaboration of American and Australian winemakers, this unctuous effort is a classic example of a new world Shiraz. Donrsquo;t be put off if the nose is slightly vegetal to start. All you need are a couple of swirls in your glass and the bright red fruits of raspberry and cranberry come through. The palate is dominated by blueberry and pepper. The tannins are very present but sweet, accompanied by glycerin and balanced with a fair amount of acidity, which helps carry the long finish. Although the term is overused by some wine critics, I would call this a hedonistic fruit bomb to be enjoyed with friends or given as an impressive gift to the host.
