Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

This new offering from Chris Ringland is made up of Syrah and Monastrell from the southern region of Jumilla in Spain. Chris has moved his winemaking talents from Australia to Spain, and he still makes outstanding (and not shy at 15.5%) wines at a great price. Loads of white pepper and sour cherry make up the nose and roll around on the palate on soft mild tannins. The finish is spicy with black plum and a touch of herbs. A Spanish Rhône.

Sarah is now a blend of Syrah and Monastrell and she’s very happy with the result. Rich, dense and quite full-bodied, this one reminds us of its Australian counterpart, but with better balance and finesse. The Monastrell really helps complete this wine, endowing it with spicy complexity and long finish. Produced again by partners Dan Phillips and winemaker Chris Ringland, although this time it hails from Jumilla in Spain rather than Australia.
