Marquis Philips Red Blend Sarah's Blend 2003
Member Review by ryanopaz:
Deep purple with slight fade towrds rim, and medium thick legs. Meaty, vanilla, plum, nose with light black pepper and lush anise. Med-heavy mouthfeel withh noticeable alcohol that didn't distract from the taste. Soft tannins framed flavors of cherry, vanilla, blackberry, light spice and an overall lush richness. [NR]

Combining power with elegance, the deep ruby/purple-tinged 2003 Sarahrsquo;s Blend, an 8,000-case cuvee of 62% Shiraz, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 19% Merlot, displays a high ldquo;yummyrdquo; factor along with loads of smoky vanilla, licorice, fig, plum, black currant and spice box notes. This juicy, succulent, medium to full-bodied 2003 possesses surprising texture, depth, and length. There is not a hard edge to be found, so it can be enjoyed over the next 2ndash;3 years.

A stylish red, distinctive for its spicy black cherry, berry and subtle mint flavors on a velvety background, finishing almost plush and peppery, lingering well. Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now through 2008.

Medium ruby-red. Bright aromas of raspberry, blackberry, plum, mocha, bitter chocolate and subtle oak spices. Then less sweet and rich in the mouth than the basic shiraz bottling, with slightly dry-edged, herbal flavors. But finishes firm and fairly persistent.
