Winemaker's Notes:

Vineyard: Made only at historic quality vintages at our 300 ha Ygay Estate (Rioja Alta). Grapes: 75% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha, 12% Mazuelo, 3% Graciano. Key aspects of vinification: In wooden vats, for aproximately 25-30 days, with daily skin contact. Grape must is achieved through pressure of de-stemmed grapes in these wooden vats, with a cap of skin forming at the top, which is stirred twice daily into the fermenting wine. Type of casks: 225 L American oak barrels. Time in casks: 216 months. Recommended foods: All red meats and game, but also cured ham, strong cheeses and oily fish. Serving temperature: 16º-18º C Decanting: It is recommended to decant forty minutes before serving.
