Marques de Grinon Marques de Grinon Petit Verdot 2005
Inky deep cherry color. Intense, elegant and expansive nose combined with complex aromas. Massive tannins, ripe flavors of oak and black fruits. Chocolate, coffee, blackberry, licorice and mint meld in a luscious blend. Excellent tannic structure, broad, supple, substantial palate of ripe fruits and wild berries. Lingering finish.
The Marqués de Griñon estate, in the family since 1292, was the first in Spain to be granted its own D.O. or Denominación de Origen – Spain’s highest vineyard rating. The non-traditional estate wines are from international varietals, using cutting-edge viticulture and winemaking techniques – the results have received international acclaim.
External Reviews for Marques de Grinon Marques de Grinon Petit Verdot
The 2005 Petit Verdot is a bit more complex, richer, and more structured. This lengthy effort will benefit from 4andndash;5 years of aging and drink well through 2025.
This inky red delivers dark flavors of licorice, tar and toast, with a core of currant and mineral. The texture is dense, with chewy tannins and a bitter finish. An extreme style, but has a muscular appeal. Drink now through 2013.
