Marques de Grinon Dominio de Valdepusa Syrah 2005
Dark purple. Aromatic, jammy blackberries, violets, cassis and freshly ground white pepper. Core of blackberry fruit, with accents of game, mineral and toast. Well-knit moderate tannins and relatively soft acidity. Displays tremendous fruit intensity and smooth velvety texture. It has good underlying acidity that provides vibrancy & a spectacularly rich and prolonged finish.
The Marqués de Griñon estate, in the family since 1292, was the first in Spain to be granted its own D.O. or Denominación de Origen – Spain’s highest vineyard rating. The non-traditional estate wines are from international varietals, using cutting-edge viticulture and winemaking techniques – the results have received international acclaim.
