Marqués de Cáceres White Blend Rioja Blanco 2008
The name of this wine. Marques de Caceres was lent by D. Vicente Noguera y Espinosa de los Monteros. Today, he has been succeeded by his son D. Juan Noguera Merle, a worthy representative of the Marquisate which was granted in the XVIII century to his ancestor Juan Ambrosio Garcia de Caceres y Montemayor, a Captain of the Royal Armada for war merits.
The 2008 Rioja Blanca is crisp, lemony, and lively. The nose is fairly intense and has lots of citrus, particularly lemon, apple, and some tropical notes. My first taste had banana flavor, which was quickly overtaken by that everpresent lemon and some minerality and grassiness. It has very high acidity and a short finish. Nice dry white wine. Not not extremely fruity, but good.
Not too bad
Excellent when made into Sangria with a peach and some kiwis and an orange.
