Marqués de Cáceres White Blend Rioja Blanco 2005
Attractive, bright ruby red colour. Refined bouquet of black cherries and blackberries with a soft touch of aromatic Mediterranean herbs. Lusciously fresh and fruity in the mouth where rich fruit (cherries, strawberries, raspberries) and notes of cinnamon mingle to give a pleasant fullness with a backbone of silky-smooth tannins. Long-lasting, unctuous finish. A splendid vintage that is velvety-soft and elegant. A perfect accompaniment to Mediterranean cuisine, fried food, grilled vegetables, pulses, paella and other rice dishes, pasta, fish in tomato sauce, ham, chorizo, pte, beef (roast, stewed, or grilled) and cheese (mild or medium matured). Serve at: 16-18 degrees C.
The name of this wine. Marques de Caceres was lent by D. Vicente Noguera y Espinosa de los Monteros. Today, he has been succeeded by his son D. Juan Noguera Merle, a worthy representative of the Marquisate which was granted in the XVIII century to his ancestor Juan Ambrosio Garcia de Caceres y Montemayor, a Captain of the Royal Armada for war merits.
Cedar and patchouli nose, "bright" fresh fruit/grape flavors balance acidity well, finishing with cranberry and low-medium tannins. Great with grilled/salty meats, Italian/tomato-based foods also.
paired it with tapas and it was marvelous.
Medium bodied, not too heavy, with a smooth clean flavor. Fresh and light on the nose. Absolutely lovely.
Love this wine; goes great with pasta and spicy sausage. Buy it by the case!
Fun aromas of beef bouillon and dark fruit - still a little heat too despite the age. The juicy palate is mostly full of ripe blackberries, but there's a hint of cocoa and some baking spice. Finishes sharp with a bit of menthol.
bold berry fruit, red baking spices, concentrated fruit flavors with a nice balance of acidity
red berry fruit with some dark cocoa notes, concentrated fruit flavors with some stewed strawberries and seeping tea; nice complexity.

A very dry Spanish rioja which tastes of sweet-and-sour cherries, with acids and soft, creamy tannins. This wine is a perfect accompaniment to fried food, grilled vegetables, paella and other rice dishes.
