Food Pairings for Marqués de Cáceres Tempranillo Blend Rioja Reserva
Well, it says $35 above , which is surely wrong. I have seen this around consistently in the low $ teens, and I bought this for $9.99 on sale (and it is pretty good for that price). Has a little bit of the buttered/glazed pastry aroma, along with a cured meats vibe. On the palate, definitely a salted/cured meats taste, along with a little spiciness as time went on. It's also a little salty tasting, and became more so with dinner. So I tried it later with some Italian dry salami, and it worked well with that-the saltiness of the salami didn't overwhelm it, and it cut the saltiness of the wine, and brought out the fruit. I have read many say it's good with Tapas, and Tapas tends to feature cured meats and anchovies, so I would imagine they're spot on.. I would call this Off-Dry, with well-integrated tannins that you don't really notice until they dry your mouth a little after drinking. And it seems well balanced. I would say this is a high-floor, not-so-high ceiling wine. So unless it's matched with the perfect pairing, its not aiming for the stars, but it seems very well-made and sure to deliver a good level of quality for the price,

I love all their vintages...every one from Marques de Caceres has been excellent and has never let me down. I have tried 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. They are all good to the last drop and sure to impress your guests! :)
Fun aromas of beef bouillon and dark fruit - still a little heat too despite the age. The juicy palate is mostly full of ripe blackberries, but there's a hint of cocoa and some baking spice. Finishes sharp with a bit of menthol.
bold berry fruit, red baking spices, concentrated fruit flavors with a nice balance of acidity
Whoa, lots of oak on this one, laced with some sweet/savory vanilla notes. Bright, ripe red berries on the nose lead into a very metallic palette that finishes off with a hint of cherry pie.
very very bitter and hard to drink on its own. better with cheese.

Lusciously fresh and fruity on the palate with strawberries and raspberries. A perfect accompaniment to paella, chorizo or ham.
A rich full bodied wine with spicy aromas, berry fruit flavors, and a velvety finish.
Saturated and dark, with prune, dried cheese and leather on the nose. The body is full and offers good tannins to prop up chewy, baked flavors of blackberry, dark plum and chocolate. Very nice, easygoing and ready to drink now.

The fleshy palate offers full flavors of berry and cherry, with smooth tannins and great acidity. Recommended to pair with Mediterranean dishes, fried food, grilled vegetables, beef, or cheeses.</p>
