Marqués de Cáceres Tempranillo Blend Rioja Reserva 2005
Dark, ruby red color. Dense bouquet combining toasted notes, tobacco and a hint of spice. Good structure with nice complexity in the mouth where mature fruit flavors give way to a touch of roasted coffee, chocolate and sweet spice. A wine full of character that reflects its noble origin. Marry with savory fish dishes, refined delicatessen products, all kinds of beef, duck, partridge, game and mature cheese.
The name of this wine. Marques de Caceres was lent by D. Vicente Noguera y Espinosa de los Monteros. Today, he has been succeeded by his son D. Juan Noguera Merle, a worthy representative of the Marquisate which was granted in the XVIII century to his ancestor Juan Ambrosio Garcia de Caceres y Montemayor, a Captain of the Royal Armada for war merits.
Fun aromas of beef bouillon and dark fruit - still a little heat too despite the age. The juicy palate is mostly full of ripe blackberries, but there's a hint of cocoa and some baking spice. Finishes sharp with a bit of menthol.
bold berry fruit, red baking spices, concentrated fruit flavors with a nice balance of acidity
Whoa, lots of oak on this one, laced with some sweet/savory vanilla notes. Bright, ripe red berries on the nose lead into a very metallic palette that finishes off with a hint of cherry pie.
very very bitter and hard to drink on its own. better with cheese.
