Marqués de Cáceres Rosé Blend Rioja Rosado 2002

Winemaker's Notes:

Dark, ruby red colour. Dense bouquet combining toasted notes, tobacco and a hint of spice. Good structure with nice complexity in the mouth where mature fruit flavors give way to a touch of roasted coffee, chocolate and sweet spice. A wine full of character that reflect its noble origin. A splendid bottle to marry with savoury fish dishes such as fresh tuna in spicy tomato sauce, refined delicatessen products (chorizo, salami), all kinds of beef (roasted, stewed, or grilled), foie gras, duck, partridge, game, and mature cheeses. Serve between: 16-18 degrees C.

Nice rich reddish purple. Light barnyard with nice raspberry, light cinnamon spice, cherry and wood. Light to medium weight with a firm acidty and mild tannins. Nice juicy cherry, cranberry with light spices and faint vanilla oak. Nice enough for a plesant dinner. 3/5 [NR]

Its a go to spanish red...most people will always like this wine and brand, but their are better ones out there. The price for a gran res. is really cheap. VEry rustic and a bit different than most wines from the old world.

Search the world over and yoursquo;ll be hard-pressed to find a more pleasing low-cost white than this 100% Viura. It doesnrsquo;t take an experts to appreciate the unoaked freshness of this lightweight. The seamless bouquet snaps with melon, while the palate shimmies with citrus and apple. There are no frills to this wine, just consistency and simplicity. And the cooler you serve, the crisper itrsquo;ll come across.

This harmonious white offers ripe melon flavors enlivened with notes of lemon and lime and framed with vanilla from oak. Itrsquo;s clean and fresh, and has enough body for food. Drink now through 2004.

Black cherry, tobacco and licorice flavors mingle in this firm red. The tannins are a bit obtrusive, but should balance with food. A solid wine with good typicity.
