The Markus Molitor winery currently holds 38 hectares of vineyard, of which 4,5 hectares are in the Saar region, making it the largest winery on the Middle Mosel. All the attention is focussed exclusively on three noble grape varieties traditionally associated with the Mosel – 95% Riesling, 3% Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and 2% Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc). Depending on the vintage conditions, annual production varies between 200.000 and 300.000 bottles, of which over 90% are of the 0,75 litre size. In addition, around 20.000 bottles of sparkling wine (Sekt) are produced at the estate. Read less

Intense peach, honey, and apricot, with a touch of strawberry and anise, and the slightest hint of yeast. Just on the edge of carbonation, this wine delivers a tease of sparkle just a moment before a wave of creamy fruit hits your tongue. Medium-sweet and smooth, with a nice, long finish, this wine is great for sipping -- but good luck trying to restrain yourself. I would certainly pair this with cheese (it has enough flavor to stand up to the strongest cheeses), as well as fruits and breads. It would also be an interesting complement to a lemony fish entree.

Quite simply the best Riesling one can find! Not many domestics can come close to the flavor and consistent quality of MM. This is the standard against which all other Rieslings should be compared.

Duft nach Honig, Quitte, süsser Apfel, leichte Röstaromatik, Rose, weisse Blüten, Honig und Mirabellen. Kraftvolles, samtiges mineralisches Süss-Säure-Spiel, dicht und aromatisch. Langanhaltender Abgang sehr komplexer Nachhall.
