Markham Vineyards Merlot 2015

Editorial Review by Snooth Editorial:

Cherry and sawdust aromas with sweet syrupy notes and a hint of blueberry on the nose. Mixed red fruit palate of cherry, strawberry and raspberry with loads of ripe flavors, a burst of acidity coming through the mid palate and a licorice, herbal earthy finish that carries a touch of vanilla and spice.

This Merlot is typical of the vintage in that respect. Aromas of violets and blackberry briars remind one of Cabernet Sauvignon while the fleshy texture alludes to Merlot. The attractive sweet espresso and black raspberry flavors add to the mystery. A bit of bottle age should allow the spicy, cherry fruit and vanilla oak to shine.
