Blended with Cabernet Sauvignon for muscle and backbone, this wine tastes of plums and mint. Soft and approachable now, it will age beautifully for several years. Try it with lamb or Cajun cuisine.

Ripe, rich and seductive, with currant, black cherry, anise and plum flavors framed by toasty, butter oak notes. Uncommon in California Merlot, for its opulence and finesse; has fine tannins and a silky texture, but the depth to age through 1997.

Dusty berry, herb and stewed plum aromas lead to similar flavors that are tightly wound and firmly tannic. Finishes with good depth and concentration, and firm-enough tannins to cellar short-term. Best from 2003 through 2008.

Young and vibrant, nicely balanced, with tasty cherry, currant, earth and herbal notes that offer good depth and richness. Drink now through 2007.

A cherry bomb that will continue to improve with age. Layers of cola, root beer, vanilla & mocha toast aromas. Ripe cherry flavors held together by tannins that fill the palate. Pair with grilled lamb shank or peppered steak.

Aromas of sour cherries, toasted hazelnuts and vanilla cream might sound decadent enough for dessert, but yoursquo;ll be surprised how perfectly this rich wine works with dinner. Stash a few bottles away to experience what time does to its dense, velvety structure, but by all means enjoy some now for its precious, blackberry fruit.
