Markham Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2010
The wine is a deep garnet in the glass, transitioning into bright ruby along the edges. The nose is quite pleasant, with rich black fruit and Asian spices flowing gingerly over a bed of toasted oak. The taste is quite nice, with plenty if ripe black fruit up front, blackberry, cassis and plum, which quickly transition to some vanilla and anise midpalate. The finish is quite nice, with rich and supple tannins supporting a long, dry finish. Overall, a very nice example of a more classic Napa Valley Cabernet. very nice cab. at reasonable price point. new find that my wife enjoyed
Soft sweet cherries and raspberries. Sweet oak covers most of the nose. Very soft with a mouth watering feel on the front pallet. The mid pallet has some cherry leading into a creamy taste like a cherry pie ala mode. The finish has hints of nutmeg and closes with nice soft tannins. This wine is very approachable. Not very complex and great for a special treat.
Basically didn't meet my expectations.

Briary aromas mingle with fresh blackberries and caramel oak highlight in this Cabernet Sauvignon. Dense, plum jam flavors support the solid core of tannins on the finish. Vanilla toast and nutmeg spice things up as the wine continues to open in the glass.
Bordeaux immigrant Jean Laurent came to California in 1852 founded one of the first wineries in Napa Valley. Bruce Markham arrived in Napa Valley looking to start a winery, in 1978, he founded Markham Vineyards and the old Laurent winery was reborn.
Winemaker's notes:Milk chocolate, cassis and berry jam aromas mix together with layers of anise and vanilla. Juicy mulberry fruit flavors provide a lush mouthfeel balanced with caramel and more milk chocolate in the mid-palate. This young wine has chewy tannins that will settle wonderfully for long-term aging. Enjoy its youthful exuberance now paired with a well-seasoned rib-eye or an herbed white bean ragout.

Wine Tasting NotesBlackberry jam and cedar aromas are highlighted by intriguing notes of fresh tarragon. The concentrated texture of this Cabernet draws you in; soft yet gloriously chewy. Berry fruit flavors are accented by rich caramel and finish with a subtle mineral "sense of place." Decanting is conducive to immediate enjoyment and should bring out wonderful floral perfume common to our wines.
This is sleek and refined, with dusty berry, currant, sage and herbal, cedary oak notes that are well-proportioned, gaining depth, complexity and length while remaining elegant and stylish. Drink now through 2013. 40,700 cases made. Wine Spectator. A Cabernet Sauvignon wine from California in USA. 2004 Markham Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
