Markham Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain 2009
Blackberry jam and cedar aromas are highlighted by intriguing notes of fresh tarragon. The concentrated texture of this Cabernet draws you in; soft yet gloriously chewy. Berry fruit flavors are accented by rich caramel and finish with a subtle mineral "sense of place." Decanting is conducive to immediate enjoyment and should bring out wonderful floral perfume common to our wines.
Tip of tongue met by ever so slight minerality, plump dark berries follow & balance with strong cedar. Floral notes develop after sitting. Enjoy chilled. Remarkable.
Vanilla, wild brush, and dark fruits on the nose at uncorking. After an hour, notes of butter, cream cheese and mint intermingle. Palate opens with cherry, black currant and pomegranate. Pleasant acidity prompts mild sourness at edges of the fruit and into the finish. Focused integration structures a concentration of bright, chewy flavors. Tasty, succulent finish.
Smooth. Doesn't linger at the end the way I want it to...maybe needs more tannins. A little bit of spice at the head.
Two and a half glasses

Briary aromas mingle with fresh blackberries and caramel oak highlight in this Cabernet Sauvignon. Dense, plum jam flavors support the solid core of tannins on the finish. Vanilla toast and nutmeg spice things up as the wine continues to open in the glass.
