A sweet entry of brown sugar and molasses is followed by a bit of orange zest and coriander. The core reveals fleshy plum flavors, with a spicy note of cardamom from oak aging. Ehh. Easy drinking for a Saturday afternoon. For the cost and the availability its worth it. Smooth finish with no acidity. Muted dark berry flavors and a jammy consistancy.

Chilled then brought to correct temperature. I let the wine breathe for 20 minutes before drinking. Deep raspberry color. Medium body. Smell: Fruity cherry notes with some spice. Taste: Very sweet, light. The ending is tart and acidic.

This Sonoma winery specializes in Pinot Noir sourced from California's coastal appellations and believes in making the quintessential fruit-forward style of California Pinot at affordable prices. The winemaker is Alex Cose and the proprietor is Derek Benham. Mark West Pinot Noir is garnet red in color with enticing aromas of strawberry and raspberry and barrel notes of caramel, vanilla and baking spices. Medium in body with a juicy texture and silky tannins, this red wine gem offers rich flavors of raspberry, cherry pie, vanilla and cola berry. It was aged for 8-10 months in French oak. Enjoy it now and over the next 4-5 years with grilled salmon, roast pork, BBQ chicken and mild cheeses.

Crushed red berries, smoky oak, licorice and floral notes dominate the heady bouquet. The wine is full-bodied and quite rich on the palate with black cherry fruit, and subtle vanilla-flavored oak well balanced by soft supple tannins that finish soft and sweet.
