For the retail price was pretty disappointed. Got a great deal on Lot18 but still wasn't blown away. Read more

"Rating: 85/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the October 2010 issue. It may be the most pricey of Marimar's Pinots
Rating: 85/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the October 2010 issue. It may be the most pricey of Marimar's Pinots, and it comes with an extra year of age, but this tart and comparatively underfilled wine never quite finds the fruit of its younger mates. Its increasingly obvious acidity sticks out like the proverbial sore thumb and pushes the wine's nominal tannins into unwelcome prominence.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Further bottle aging can improve this wine.
Austere and tannic, yet with a tight beam of dried cherry, earth, mineral and sage, veering to dryness on the finish. Drink now through 2010. 655 cases made. by Wine Spectator This is Marimar?s first Sonoma Coast Pinot, and the result is promising.
Winemaker's Notes:
Named after the late patriarch of the Torres family the organic vineyard is located in the Green Valley one of Sonoma County's coolest growing regions; its proximity to the Pacific Ocean provides an extended growing season and allows the grapes to develop slowly to full intensity. The aromas are classic black cherry/wild berry fruit and the palate is intense round and silky with velvety but firm tannins. Richness and concentration combine with softness and elegance.
