Mid dark ruby red with a good clean intensity in the glass, looked very promising. The nose was big on cherries, had some good spicebox to it and some licorice in there too. The palate was a little more acidic than I wanted and not particularly tannic, a good clean aftertaste. An interesting wine but not worth the money IMO. Buy an Italian Primitivo.

Tasting Notes :Smells plenty of oak here in the minty, mountainy red and black fruit, but otherwise the substantial oak is well integrated. In your mouth the wine adds chocolate and grape tannins, then violets and spice become evident as the fruit eases off and the aftertaste volatilizes. To add to this nice effect, the wine stays cool and bright to the finish even though it's built with dark, intensely ripe fruit.
