Maremma Toscana IGT Tenuta Belguardo 2000

External Review by Palm Bay International:

/ Loads of blackberry and currant character on the nose. Very full and layered on the palate, with masses of ripe berry and chocolate flavors and a long, velvety, tannic finish. Big and impressive.

Tenuta Belguardo 2010 - JamesSuckling.com - 95 Points/ A beautiful wine that shows clarity and grace, with dark fruits, sandalwood and hints of flowers. Full body with silky tannins and a fresh finish. Give it three to four years to show its greatness. A blend of 90 per cent cabernet sauvignon and 10 per cent Cabernet Franc. This is the best wine ever from here.

Tenuta Belguardo 2004/ This top-notch blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from Mazzei’s beautiful Maremma property boasts thick, modern concentration and pretty renderings of red fruit, vanilla and exotic spice. It has excellent texture in the mouth and is velvety and lively at the same time.

Tenuta Belguardo 2006 - 93 Points, Wine Spectator/ Perfumed, with currant and flowers on the nose, turning to tar and spices. Full-bodied, with polished yet chewy tannins. Long and flavorful, yet reserved. A fascinating wine.

Top Italian Cabernet Sauvignon Producers/ This Florentine family is known for its Chianti Classicos, but its Belguardo (90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc) from the Maremma may be its best wine yet.

Tenuta Belguardo 2005 - Sante/ Sleek and brilliant in the glass with black currant, oak, and cedar on the nose; mouthwatering and beautifully structured if too tightly wound for immediate pleasure. Very long and classy but in need of time in the bottle.
