Rather clean and fresh with mint-toned grape skins, dusted with a little cocoa powder on the nose. Bright and juicy in the mouth, this shows a lovely leading edge of ripe fruit roundness followed by juicy acidity and a nice interplay of simple fresh fruit, plums and raspberries. A hint of allspice adds a bit of detail. The finish is clean and brisk and shows good persistence to the fruit. Delicious in a light and easy style. 87pts

The very attractive nose showed spiced berries, herbs and leather. On the palate, it was intense yet silky, with tart berries and spice, softening acidity, and excellent balance. The finish was lingering with dark fruits, not long but very smooth.

The property of the Marchesi di Barolo is placed in this idyllic atmosphere, where its historical vineyards reinforced by the time-expired and harmoniously pictured on the hills, find, every day, a confirmation for the quality of its grapes and wines.

Winemaker's Notes:

Deep ruby red. Charming, with hints of woodland berries and appealing vanilla overtones. Lively, Full-bodied and well-rounded. This wine makes a delightful accompaniment to roast and most red meats. Serve at a moderate room temperature.
