What to Expect

Nebbiolo is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines. Though generally only medium-bodied, the wines possess rose and anise scented aromatics and deep flavors of cherry, orange peel and subtle green herb tones.

Winemakers Notes

Because of the composition of the soil, the Langhe endows Barbers, the most classic of Piedmontese wines, with a vigorous but balanced character. Brief maturation of six months in Slavonian oak barrels of medium size only adds to the richness of the bouquet and the wine's overall harmony. Purplish red in color, the wine offers scents of wild berries and black ourrants and a flavor that is warm and hearty.
