User Reviews for Marchesi Cattaneo di Belforte Rossi di Montalcino

Winemaker's Notes:

Tasting Notes: From the Marchesi Cattaneo estate in Montalcino, this is the best bargain Tuscan Red we’ve seen this season. Made from 100% Sangiovese di Grosso (locally known as Brunello) the same grapes that go into the estate Brunello go into the Rosso di Montalcino and at a third of the price. The difference is that the Rosso is made in a more ready drinking style, being aged for only one year in the barrel and six months in the bottle, compared to Brunello which typically sees two to three years in oak and two to three years in the bottle before release. Any wine lover who is looking to score a great deal from Montalcino should pick up a case of this wine before it sells out. This wine will blow your friends away and the best part is considering most Rosso di Montalcinos are hovering close to $30 per bottle, this is the finest quality and most affordable wine from Montalcino you will see.
