Winemaker's Notes:

Marchand & Burch is a unique partnership between Burgundian winemaker Pascal Marchand (previously at Domaine de la Vougeraie) and Jeff Burch from Australian winery Howard Park. This is their first vintage; where Old World meets New World for the creation of two fabulous wines! In 2006, they identified vineyard blocks in the South West of Western Australia, and their aim has since been to work the natural environment and craft wines that best express the soils from which they come from. By adopting the biodynamic approach, the winemaking process is traditional yet modern, with minimal intervention, allowing the wines to become true expressions of their natural source. Selected Chardonnay grapes from the Porongurup region have been hand picked and whole bunch pressed, using slow wild ferments in small French oak barrels to produce a wine with complex aromas of cashew, grapefruit and lemon blossom. The palate structure is fine and elegant with great oak integration, generous mouth feel and palate length.
