What to Expect

Riesling is a chameleon of a grape, able to produce world class wines that range from bone dry to unctuously sweet. Germany is most closely associated with Riesling, where all styles are made and the range of flavors runs the gamut from steely and crisp with crunchy mineral-driven flavors to fresh lime, apple and peach flavored expressions - even rich honied, candied fruit tones in the great dessert wines.

Winemakers Notes

Pineapple passion fruit minerals and a note of menthol on the nose. Juicy and just off-dry with a pineapple flavor and a distinctly dusty texture. The exotic fruit hints and fatness of texture suggest a warm site. Not yet complex but quite suave. Riesling and pinot gris dominate here.

"Open and airy, this is supported by a lively structure. Beginning to show some secondary flavors of lanolin, citrus confit and mineral. Firms up on the finish, with a lingering citrus aftertaste. Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Auxerrois. Drink now through 2012...90" WS 10/06
