Marcassin Chardonnay Three Sisters(2000)

Light straw. Nose is tight right now, not nearly as expressive as the Upper Barn. Still, there’s attractive fruit underneath and the influence of oak becomes more obvious as the wine sits in the glass. Very big and well-rounded on the palate with ripe fruit at the core.Give this one a little more time to strut its stuff.

Reticent but complex nose combines smoke, apricot and menthol. Sappy and rather powerful in the mouth without coming across as phenolic. Strong flavor of baking spices. Rather dominated today by its structure, but this also possesses lovely sweetness of fruit. A less exotic style of chardonnay than the Upper Barn.
