Marcarini Barolo la Serra 1998
"Manuel Marchetti's La Serra vineyard in Barolo is sited high-up on the LaMorra hill which, together with the fine calcareous sandstone soils givesthe wine a beautiful perfumed elegance, a full yet refined palate crammed withripe red spicy berried fruit, fresh yet succulent." (David Berry Green-BBRBuyer)
Sadly wasn't too impressed by this, it's good but was expecting more especially as its not a cheap bottle. Pours a thin tawny Indian red, you can taste the heat in this one with warm cheery and redcurrant with cooked herbs. Its pretty fresh, the tannins are low but overall I was hoping for more. I've had a lot better wines than this one and the price would easily put me off.
