This wine was showing evidence of extreme youth but was ripe enough so as to be enjoyable. Classic nose of tar, black cherries, mineral, earth and even hints of truffle. The palate was big, ripe with wonderful pure tannin and explosive fruit. Tannins cut a swath on the palate but are cut nicely with ripe fruit. Juicy, dark and refined. Twenty year too young.
