What to Expect

Nebbiolo is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines. Though generally only medium-bodied, the wines possess rose and anise scented aromatics and deep flavors of cherry, orange peel and subtle green herb tones.

low key nose with good balance and complexity, sandy and limastoney with a narrow band of black spice and faint dark cherry note on the nose which developed into a spicier, more typical profile with time. Round and sweet upfronnt with lovely integration though the tannins remained a bit astringent and the acids a touch high they served to compliment the slightly musky, with grapy/ red berry fruit, still a touch young but a complete and succesful barolo

The flavor calls to mind the sunshine of the Langhe hills; the bouquet is reminiscent of spice, tobacco, cinnamon and ripe fruit, with undertones of very fine wood. Color is garnet red, lively and intense, with slightly orange hues, but it is on the palate this wine fully reveals its magnitude, character and complexity: velvety, round, with soft tannins, well balanced components and remarkable persistence, it confirms the bouquets subtly spicy vein, with notes of liquorice and vanilla.
