What to Expect

Nebbiolo is a fickle grape famed as much for its pale appearance as for its tannic character and produces some of the most perfumed and richly flavored wines. Though generally only medium-bodied, the wines possess rose and anise scented aromatics and deep flavors of cherry, orange peel and subtle green herb tones.

a more copper , developed color than the 82. a reticent nose with obvious caramel upfront, surprisingly coolish for the vintage, very spicy though on the vegetal side of spice, good depth, with time maduro cigar wrapper and roses appear. A very sexy mouthfeel with soft tannins and good supporting acidity, a bit unfocused through the mid-palate with a nice flavor profile on the finish which is more savory than fruit driven and a bit short. Ultimitely this is lacking some finesse and depth, I've cellared this since release and expect that it has seen some less than ideal treatment before I laid it down.
