Rather perfumy on the nose with creamy raw almond undertones to the slightly spicy pineapple and pear fruit on the nose. This turns even more floral with air. Crisp on entry with nice bright acids driving an apple laden midpalate that picks up some creme brulee and key lime pie flavors on the backend. Just a slightly creamy edge adds textural detail to the fairly bright midpalate. the flavors are a bit simple and lack the brightness of the texture, but this is so easy to drink, finishing with a lightly veneer of oak spice and vanilla. Has a certain elegance to it but is simple. 87pts

Smooth and silky, this Merlot displays seductive layers of berry, plum, violet and spice character.  The wine's fruit-forward style comes from California's Central Coast vineyards where the grapes ripen slowly and develop a myriad of flavours.

Velvety flavors, full of blackberries, currants and warm spices highlight our Coastal Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes were harvested from vineyards in Californias North Coast appellation. The complex interplay of aromas and flavors in the wine come from these vineyards which are rooted in varied soils. Winemaker Ken Shyvers carefully selects the grapes for our Cabernet to ensure rich, ripe character with soft tannins. This means that you will be enjoying a very approachable wine.

Soft and friendly, the '05 Robert Mondavi Private Selection Chardonnay is a solid example of great value wine; serve with light seafood entrees.

Our 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from cool-climate Central Coast grapes and has been blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and small amounts of Syrah, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc, Tannat, and Petit Verdot. The wine has a smooth texture and sweet, red-fruit character that distinguishes California's finest Cabernet Sauvignons. Flavors of cherry and blueberry, along with smoky oak and vanilla accents invigorate the palate and provide a lengthy finish. Enjoy with standing rib roasts, grilled steak, roast duck, spareribs, lasagna, or flavorful hard cheeses. - WineryVARIETAL COMPOSITION80% Cabernet Sauvignon9% Syrah3% Merlot3% Petite Sirah3% Cabernet Franc1% Tannat1% Petit VerdotAPPELLATION74% Monterey County19% Paso Robles4% San Benito County3% Santa Barbara CountyOAK AGING: 12 months in French/American OakTA: 6.0g/LpH: 3.7ALCOHOL: 13.5%

    Winemaker's Notes:

Always consistant, vintage after vintage; full of forward fruit flavors without that heavy oakiness. In its price range the Mondavi is always a benchmark bottlingDisplays rich pear, citrus, apple, spice and mineral character, with hazelnut lacing the finish.
